The Quiet Employee

I made it a habit to sometimes look at things from a cartoonish angle. It helps freshen my perspective and also holds my ego in check. Take the corporate world, for example. Looked at objectively, it's a bunch of people who commute to a shared workplace to look at screens; you know, move the cursor, switch between tabs, etc. If you zoom out for a second and remove rank and value throughput from the equation, you'll quickly see that we are all doing the same thing: looking at screens. Yet, you have the recently promoted Johnny Promo, who now "talks less" because his newfound role demands a certain level of professionalism and aloofness previously unseen; he's too big to socialize or mingle with the rest of us commoners. Sit down, Johnny boy, and click clack like the rest of us.
